MY EXPERIENCES SO FAR AT TIIDELAB

Have you ever imagine seeing yourself in a place you once wished to be ? If your answer is yes then we are on same track. I could still remember following Tiidelab on Twitter, dreaming of when I could be part of the cohort, lucky for me I got to register and wrote the Entrance test but fortunately I fail, sad to hear, right?. It didn't stop there I kept pushing, preparing myself for the following year, which today its a dream come true now am here at TIIDELAB !!! TIIDELAB which stands for (Think Innovate Idate Execute). Tiidelab was not how I imagined it to be, come and learn how to code and be a good programmer... nah!! There is more to Tiidelab than just coding.

Not to bug you with too much talk, I will just highlight some key fantastic things here at Tiidelab

  1. Networking : becoming a programmer you would definitely need to have a very large networks of friends which can help fast track you progress in becoming who you want to be. I learnt it here at tiidelab, I am a one man army all my life but Tiidelab brought my out of my shell to see and communicate to the world of my potential. As I speak now I am friends to about 50% of this cohort3 . Now I can freely express myself, because I have so many great mind around me thanks to Tiidelab.

  2. Presentation: I must talk about this, the last time I ever presented
    was at my school project defense, wow!! You heard me. At Tiidelab what ever you do, any progress you make next is to present to the whole house, frankly it has help me build my self-confidence and public speaking, which was a major challenge in my life. So get set you will present till you have nothing to present anymore.

  3. Version Control: version control is a must for every developer. I thought learning git would be the last thing on my learning list, boom here it was the first most crucial part of developer. Using Git and Github was realy an smooth experience to talk about. How to clone and fork a project which I know many developers are not awear of.

  4. Coding partners: you are never alone here at Tiidelab, knowledge sharing and responsibility is a must here, the success of your partner is you duty. You are assign a partner to work with in any project and assignment.

  5. Meet-Ups: wow I can't end my list without talking about Friday's meet-up, be it Virtual or physical, its always fun every Friday at Tiidelab. It's a time we get to loosen up and enjoy ourselves. Always a none computer day, tasks are been given out to choose the head of house(HOH) for the coming week wish is very tasking to do. Your problem solving skills would be tested and decision making abilities. It's always fun at Tiidelab and there are more to comming stay tuned.
